Fireproof Varnishes

Fireproof Coatings

Varnishes and fireproof paint for wood classified as Euroclass compliance.
Painting wood with a fireproof varnish is now much easier.

The consequences of a fire at home, in the office or in a public place, can be catastrophic. The European Union developed a new international regulation that aims to protect those who are inside the building, by preventing the damage to the building or nearby establishments and facilitating the intervention of the rescue teams.

One of the most critical material to be protected by regulation is wood, as it becomes an easy prey to flames. For this reason, the application of fireproof resistant and retardant varnishes and paints is taking a special relevance nowadays. Aware of this, Valresa has different ranges of fireproof paints. These fireproof processes have been certified by the Technological Centre of Fire of AIDIME under the new updated rules of EUROCLASES.

We must bear in mind that the fireproof paint for wood has been properly formulated so that if a fire occurs, it has almost no flammability or at least, doesn’t contribute to the fire expansion, thus preventing the fireproof varnish from being a greater burden on the fire. All depends on the different desired levels of protection.

Another important factor measured in fireproof varnish is the production and opacity of the smoke generated when the fireproof paint is in contact with a flame, a factor to be greatly considered as, with a low speed to start emissions, and with a lower amount of average smoke, it will maximize the available time for a better view of the emergency exits.

The fireproof coating must withstand too for a considerable time without emitting particulates or flammable drops, specifically Valresa’s fireproof varnishes last for over 600 seconds (10 minutes) without emitting anything.

Fireproof coatings have been properly formulated to avoid losing their fireproofing features with the passage of time, and to obtain a look of a totally fine and smooth finish like the appearance of a varnish on conventional furniture.
